For the entrance area of the House of Läderach, we worked with Läderach Switzerland to create an oversized cocoa bean. The basic structure is made of metal, and the contour of the bean is made of hardened Styrofoam.
The challenge lay in the materialization, as the adhesion and stability of the chocolate on the base surface had to be tested in advance. The hardened Styrofoam was suitable for this requirement, and so we were able to move on to the next step of developing the 3D design and drawing. The milling, grinding, coating, and entire assembly were all carried out in-house. For the chocolate coating, the two-part cocoa bean was sent on to Läderach Switzerland. But see for yourself.
