"In Cammino con la Svizzera" is a project run by the Swiss Embassy in Italy that brings Switzerland to the 20 Italian regions through encounters, discussions, and exchanges. We have developed a series of benches that are an integral part of the project.
This project began in Milan: we met the Swiss ambassador, Roberto Balzaretti, at the Swiss Design at Tortona Design Week trade fair. While discussing our printed furniture, the idea arose to install a special bench along the route of the new project. Several designs followed, from which the current concept gradually developed.
One bench will be given to a public institution in each region – as an invitation to linger, to talk, to exchange ideas between people. The design follows a clear design language and a robust construction that is designed for long-term use in public spaces. 3D printing enables precise, repeatable production; and, of course, the whole thing is made from recycled materials.
